Happisburgh – not an easy one for visitors to know how to pronounce but it is pronounced ‘Haysburgh’. See, you’d never have guessed it if you didn’t know, would you? Norfolk loves to be different!
Known for its red and white lighthouse, Happisburgh is a popular place on the Norfolk coast. Sadly there is a great deal of coastal erosion and it has changed rapidly in the last 30 years, far more rapidly than was expected I think.
Nevertheless, it is still a beautiful and fascinating place to visit, with ancient history to discover.
