The River Wensum at Night

St Anne’s Quarter

The River Wensum is a chalk river that runs through the center of Norwich. It is along this river that the original settlement of the city began.

You can see my prints of the river during daylight hours here.

At night, views of the river become even more magical with twinkling lights, dark shadows and the midnight blue of the sky. We like to stand on the edge of the river and watch the bats perform their acrobatic displays. Occasionally we see a heron fishing too.
